Maddy's Poems
Fate
Is it all too real?
Or forever a dream?
With the unknown a danger to me,
Can one never be too safe?
I don’t know how close I’ve come
To impending death or forever safety
Turning un-trusted corners
With a stranger at my side
For whom I will love forever
Truly, by and by
Why?
How can I lovest thee?
Thou art crude and mean
Yet I have srong feelings for thee
How can I lovest thee?
Thou hast as many lovers as the sea
Yet I have strong feelings for thee
Thou art not smart nor wise
Thou art not bright yet not dumb
Why do i lovest thee?
Invisible Tears
You walk through the hallways
Living your perfect life
Flawlessly
Smiling and waving to friends
Hiding everything
Staying quiet when it's too much
Covering your fears like nothing's wrong
Breathing through your invisble tears
Refusing to show the world what's wrong
Convincing your friends that everything's okay
Crying your eyes out and still having the strength to say, "I'm fine"
The Real Heros
They have no super powers
No capes required
They come from home
Not Krypton
They have names
Like Joe and Bobby Sue
They wear camouflage
And dog tags around their necks
Sacrificing their lives on a daily basis
For our freedom
Some people are grateful
Others could care lss
But they are still out there
Saving countless lives
With my last line
I salute you
